With 16 years of experience under his apron, Peter Ambrose, chef and owner of Food for Forks Catering in Wainscott, New York, knows what it takes to produce exceptional cuisine.

Catering was one way to leave behind the shackles of a traditional 9-to-5 job while allowing him to expand his culinary chops. His infectious enthusiasm and roll-up-your-sleeves-and-make-it-happen attitude are the keys to his success.

"Being self-taught has had its advantages," Ambrose explains. "[I'm] always open to the ideas and skills of anyone who has worked for me, from my kitchen staff from all around the world to the guy washing dishes who makes a mean chimichurri sauce."

In addition to serving up incomparable fare, Ambrose truly listens to his clients and uses every tool in his impressive culinary arsenal to meet their needs; from a rustic BBQ to an elegant plated dinner for 200, he has them covered. The chef/owner simply states, "Our way is to do it the best way we know how, starting with quality product, never cutting corners, and whenever possible cooking on-site from start to finish."
