Dawn Kelly is not afraid of a little hot pink.
As the owner of Soirée Floral in Nantucket, Kelly may have escaped Wall Street - where she worked in her former life - but she's still willing to take a few risks, as Jen Riolo and Carter Smith discovered.
As Kelly got to know them, the direction of their wedding became clear. The couple are passionate gardeners, so Kelly knew flowers would be an important part of their wedding celebration. And Carter turned out to have a passion for hot pink dahlias.
"It was my job to bring their two aesthetics together," says Kelly.
Kelly knew she'd done right by the happy couple when she stopped to check in at the end of the night and Jen squeezed her so hard she couldn't catch her breath. "That's when I knew we'd done our job," she says. Sometimes, risks pay off.
DAWN'S MOTTO: "Don't be afraid to change your mind. It's ok to go back to the drawing board three or four times as you figure out what kind of wedding you really want. Enjoy the process."
