picking a wedding cake in cape cod

So, my fiance and I went to a cake tasting at Delicious Desserts, in which her cake studio which is attached to her house is so cute! ...and we tried a sampling of all sorts of cakes, which were amazing, her chocolate buttercream filling was to die for, as well as the raspberry, I think that we are going to go with chocolate cake(which was unbelievably moist) with a raspberry filling. We are also going to get a childrens cake since there will be a lot of children attending the event, and we have a magician and everything entertaining them, but anyways we are going to have Lisa make an oreo filling cake for the kids, we think that they will really love that!
HI there, all sounds very delicious..one thing I am thinking of doing for the kids at my wedding is ordering a cake with less sugar. I believe you can get 'child friendly' cakes made for your event which are less likely to send your kid in to a sugar high, followed by a nasty crash. Nothing worse than temper tanturms etc on a long day. If anyone has any suggestions of what to ask for I'd love to know.. I read that carrot cake is the best for a healthier option?
Try getting a cake with more fruits like strawberries or raspberries instead of chocolate, or try vanilla with a flavor, like almond or lemon. These will naturally have less sugars then dark chocolate and butter cream cakes.
I am beginning to see more and more cupcakes in-place of the traditional wedding cake .
Does this seem to be the trend now? I'm trying to decide what to do with my wedding - cupcakes or wedding cake...?
Cupcakes I love... make sure you go COLORFUL! It makes a cupcake tower more interesting and eye catching. and mix up the flavors, - white cake, coconut cake, lemon cake with different fillings like key lime, lemon, mango....
