Lisa Raffael, owner of Delicious Desserts, is renowned for her exquisite wedding cakes and specialty desserts. What sets her culinary creations apart is painstaking attention to detail and an uncanny ability to produce an edible work of art that tastes as good as it looks.

For over 15 years, Lisa has honed her culinary craft, working with preeminent talents such as Norman Love (one of Saveur magazine’s “10 Star Chocolate Makers”) and acclaimed cake designer Colette Peters. Apart from her work with culinary stars, Lisa has also garnered a degree of national attention on her own. Among other accolades, she has three award-winning appearances on the Food Network’s Cake Challenge Series under her belt, made the CBS A-List “Best of Boston” Wedding Cake list, and secured a place in Bride’s magazine's "50 Most Beautiful Cakes" feature.

Of course, the critical buzz alone isn’t respon­sible for her success. Since Delicious Desserts’ inception in 1993, Lisa has designed, baked, and decorated over 1,100 wedding cakes and has an effusively thankful clientele. One former client, Catherine Lee, wrote, “Thank you. ... You created a master­piece [that was] both beautiful and delicious.” Given Lisa’s assiduous attention to her ­clients’ needs, her relentless perfectionism, and her knack for all things made with flour and fondant, such praise is well deserved.

Aptly named, Delicious Desserts remains the crème de la crème of specialty ­bakeries. Lisa is booked up to a year in advance, and her award-winning creations are well worth the wait—and sure to stun a crowd. Whether it’s baking for a Food Network challenge or preparing a wedding cake for a party of 200, Raffael is all grace under pressure. When asked about her one-of-a-kind creations, she remarks, “It’s a labor of love.”
