This gorgeous wedding was sent to us by the fabulous Cape Cod-based photographer, Meghann Gregory. We love the personalized details at this event! Though it is right outside Cape Cod, we couldn't help but want to share such a beautiful celebration! Read on to learn Amy and Phil's story.
Amy never expected anything out of a blind date until one of her co-workers and friend set her up with Phil. Their first official meeting was at their company holiday party. Amy realized that her friend was right - she and Phil got along remarkably well and it was clear they had a connection. It was only two day later when they went on their first date alone, and after that it seemed as if their fate was sealed. They started planning dates for the months to come and Phil even took Amy to the ballet. Whether it was a quaint dinner at home or an extravagant date, they always enjoyed each other's company. "When you have someone by your side even doing the dishes seem fun" said Amy.
After a week long vacation together, Amy was a little disappointed when Phil didn't ask the big question. She decided to drop all of her expectations and figured that Phil would ask eventually. The Saturday after they had returned, Phil asked Amy if she wanted to accompany him on a walk. It was a bit strange, since Amy was usually the one to invite Phil to go for a stroll, but Amy accompanied him nonetheless. They set off for a local park, and when they arrived, Phil took out a picnic basket from the trunk and immediately Amy had butterflies. She could tell something exciting was about to happen. The couple ate cheese, drank wine, and talked for over an hour before Phil finally asked Amy to marry him. Amy excitedly said yes and they both later laughed when they realized that they couldn't remember exactly how Phil asked.
On the big day Amy and Phil wanted to incorporate many family traditions. Phil's family has a "love rug" that is passed down generations. Amy and Phil were married on this rug and if they ever argue during their life together they have to stand on the rug until they settle it. This is a fun tradition that Phil and his family loves. Amy's grandmother gave her a handkerchief from her great grandmother that she wrapped around her bouquet. Her mother wore a birdcage veil on her wedding day and Amy decided to use the same style veil. Family and tradition is very important to Phil and Amy and they plan to cherish and honor every moment they have together and with their family. Both families were happy to be apart of their special day and Amy and Phil didn't forget that. The day couldn't have been more perfect. The couple is now looking forward to a future filled with family and love - something that they have been surrounded with since the beginning.
