Like so many epic romances, Tobey and Christophe's great love was somewhat unexpected. Though they were aquaintances in high school, the pair sadly lost touch after graduation. It wasn't until years later that Chrisophe logged onto a social networking site, discovered that Tobey was "friends" with a mutual friend of theirs, and sent Tobey a message on a whim. "I remember how excited I was that he had reached out to me after all those years," Tobey says. She and Christophe started to correspond online, and they eventually decided to meet for a weekend in Boston. Reuniting, they felt an immediate connection. "When I told my mom how much fun I had," Tobey remembers, "she told me I looked more smitten and happier than she had ever seen me."

As their relationship developed, Tobey and Christophe moved in together in Concord, Massachusetts, near the Old North Bridge. They started taking daily walks to the bridge to unwind together after work. One August afternoon, Cristophe stopped Tobey on the bridge to "enjoy the moment." To Tobey, this action was not out of the ordinary. But suddenly, Christophe had gone from having his arm around Tobey, looking at the sunset, to being on one knee, holding a ring. As soon as Christophe sweetly asked Tobey if she would marry him, she leapt into his arms and yelled, "yes!".

To achieve her dream wedding, Tobey strived to create a romantic, vintage atmosphere. She and Christophe chose to marry at the Chatham Bars Inn by candlelight on February 27, 2010. Having their winter wedding in a popular summer vacation destination was important because it made their weekend feel private and intimate. This feeling was important, because many of their guests were traveling from out of town. "It was so nice to have this magical place all to ourselves without the rush of summer tourists," Tobey says.

Tobey and Christophe were also surprised to learn of several benefits offered to couples wedding in Cape Cod during the winter. They were provided with lower room rates, which allowed all of their guests to stay nearby, and offered many "off-season" discounts by local vendors. Such discounts allowed Tobey and Christophe to incorporate everything they wanted at their wedding affordably.

The romantic concept inspired a neutral color motif, focusing on soft pinks, creams, and taupe. Tobey held an arrangement of peonies, designed by Patrice Milley. Her bridesmaids wore fur stoles borrowed from their grandmothers, and Tobey and Cristophe hired a local swing band to emphasize the vintage feeling of the wedding. "The timelessness of the music transcended all generations," Tobey remembers. The band was able to make guests feel comfortable and enthused playing a wide variety of music, from oldies classics to the Bunny Hop, a traditional Cape Cod favorite.

Following their intimate and romantic Cape Cod wedding, Tobey and Christophe couldn't have been happier with the outcome. The evening had been filled with such joy and warm wishes by family and friends, both agreed that it had turned out to be an utterly perfect celebration of their love.
